ABOUT NOCTURNAL ABSTRACT

Nocturnal Abstract Art is about transformation & life progression. The art itself progressed from abstract drawings seen in various art shows, to being used for apparel design, to NFTs!  All of the works are based on the "Nocturnal Abstract" insomniac artist, John Shashaty’s vision.

The original B&W abstract drawings were completed with ink & paper.  It was an expressive outlet and hobby that took place typically at 2AM.   Shashaty's hook within the art is that it's not just a series of geometrical shapes.  Instead, deeper within the appearance, are a series of symbols, numbers, and interconnecting lines used to tell a story of past, present and future.  Each one has a narrative outlining the story.  However, these narratives are in glass bottles floating the globe at sea. Some have been given to actual art owners, but the series of drawings acts as a puzzle with one full story.   At some point in the future when all narratives are found, and the puzzle completed, we will be left with accurate predictions or a very entertaining novel.  Who knows, maybe owning an original will have a lot of value if / when that occurs.

The original art pieces have been seen in various art shows across the USA.  It was at an art show in NYC where Shashaty was asked to freehand a Birkin purse (which turned out amazing).   That led the way to Nocturnal Abstract apparel, including skateboards, sneakers, travel bags, and other apparel worn in 14 countries.  With the transition into digital art / NFTs apparel has been discontinued for the short term.

Shortly after as the 420 movement grew, there were many requests for original and reprint artwork for 420 lounges, smoke shops and the like.  The trippy, colorful abstract vibe, coupled with the black and white background created a "buzz".

Now the original art pieces have expanded to include various artistic expression including the original Nocturnal Abstract black and white backgrounds (and relative story) with a unique overlay either painted, or digitally drawn over the original piece.  This again is "progression" as the future of art moves toward various digital means (i.e NFT).

Let's see what the next chapter is with this future method of artistic expression.  Will it "grow" with the 420 movement, or be the next crypto-currency?  :)  You never know!

ARTIST JOHN SHASHATY:

I hope you all enjoy this creative outlet.  If you've attended any of my art shows, or wear the apparel, I can't express my gratitude enough. I would've never imagined that my hobby would be something that amazing people would wear or place in their home!

My hobby has always been creating works of art due to my inability to rest from midnight - 4am.  It's a thing. A physical time clock perhaps. I'm born and raised in NYC - so it's fitting that the city never sleeps.  For that reason, I went from Artist John Shashaty to "The Nocturnal Abstract".   The original black and white designs were not meant to be groups of geometrical shapes like some think.  It's deeper than that. The originals all have hidden symbolism and messaging within them with dated narratives.  The underlying message is often about life progression, change, adaption, instincts, future predictions, and all of the things we are experiencing together across this journey.

Life is interesting when you think about it.   Time passes, we evolve, we adapt, we experience, we hurt, we love, and we grow. It's all cyclical. So many potential impacts, issues, experiences, people, events, and at the end of the day we are who we are.  Change and progression are constant as we learn through experiences.

As with life, art too evolves which is why I'm on this NFT journey.  I love the people and energy that I've experienced through traditional art shows and now through the development of NFTs.  There are so many talented, amazing people out there!  I'm looking forward to hearing from you, so I've provided my email on the home page.  If you want to buy or trade NFTs, that's great, if you just want to reach out, talk art / NFT, and have a good vibe that's great too.  I'd love your perspective, thoughts, and to just hear about your journey.

With the focus being on progression, transformation, and life in general, always remember to be kind. The journey has peaks and valleys.  Keeping the vibe right is important!

For my 420 lovers, I see you, I appreciate you, and your support is awesome!  You give the best feedback, wear my stuff, buy my art, and I love the positive vibe! Thanks for your support  - Nocturnal Abstract
